Shutterbug's Creations' Home

I have an addiction. It began in high school when a friend told me that it was fun. Since I had no direction at that time, I tried it. Soon I began rearranging my class schedule just so I could get more of it. The more I did the more I wanted to do.
I was hooked after the first roll of film.
During my senior year of high school I was finally able to purchase my own camera, using money that I had earned from a photography contest. The encouragement of my teachers and the thrill of winning contests and awards lead me to pursue an art degree at Warren Wilson College. Nestled there in the beauty of the Swannanoa River Valley I earned my BA in fine arts with a concentration in photography, printmaking, and book arts.
I am glad I gave into my passion and have been able to photograph professionally for several years capturing images of families, weddings, the renovation of the Lucky Strike factory, and portraits for companies including Duke, Cisco, and Duke CE.
I simply have to capture the moments: the glint of gold as a wedding band slides on someone’s finger for the first time, the light in someone’s eyes as they smile, the patterns that the shadows make in a lonely building or that perfect moment when, just for an instant, the colors and textures come together for the perfect second... *click*.
